Easy Punch Embroidery Needles
When selecting needles, it depends on the type of work you are doing and the type of material you are going to use. The medium loop needle is used most of the time.
- The Small needle creates small, tight loops for fine fabrics or can be used for outlining pictures.
- The Medium needle creates medium length loops for use with thicker materials. It works well on lighter weight terry or light weight sweatshirts, and the polyester blend material that is provided in the starter picture kits.
- The Large needle creates longer large loops for a rich, thick pile look. It goes thru heavier materials such as heavy sweatshirts or towels that the medium needle will not go thru. It also works well on the polyester blend material.
- The Extra Large needle works better on the thicker material where the large needle has trouble going thru and gives a very bold look. The inside diameter is twice the size of the other three needles and will carry the Acrylic Easy Punch thread, thick sewing thread, and 3-4 strands of embroidery floss. NOTE: The large and extra-large needles make the same size loop.
Replacement needles come 2 different ways:
- Single packet containing one (1) needle of a particular size
- Small, Medium, Large, Ex-Large. Please state size when ordering.
- A needle package containing a complete set of four (4) different size needles
- Small, Medium, Large, Ex- Large
The thread must flow with ease thru the needle. If not, your loops will be of poor quality and your stitches inconsistent.
You can use different sized needles in the same project for a 3-dimensional look. Being creative and experimenting with new ideas is what makes this so much fun and exciting!!
